Extraordinary Sommeliers Take Over BOCA’s Coveted Wine Cellar

As part of BOCA’s takeover schedule for 7 SOMMS IN 7 WEEKS, we proudly present industry star, Tatsiana Makarevich taking over BOCA’s cellar for one night only on December 4th .

Each week, for one night only, a sommelier from a list of 7 extraordinary individuals collaborates with Chef Patricia Roig, BOCA’s Executive Chef, and Shiv Menon, Head of Hospitality & Wine, to curate a menu of five courses paired with five wines, presented exclusively to 12 guests in BOCA’s private cellar.

The menu will reflect the journeys, expertise, and personalities of the sommeliers, weaving narratives from diverse terroirs, grape varieties, and appellations. Emphasizing BOCA’s commitment to sustainability, the event will spotlight stories of winemakers excelling in conservation efforts.

The evening includes a welcome Champagne Frerejean Frères reception, a four-course meal with six wine pairings, priced at AED 645++ per person, with limited seating for 12 guests.

About Tatsiana Makarevich
Tatsiana Makarevich’s journey with flavors and aromas began in her childhood, exploring traditional Belarusian dishes, seasonal scents, and wines reserved for special occasions. This curiosity grew over time, shaping her passion for blending sensory experiences. Although she initially pursued a career in aviation, Tatsiana felt a stronger pull toward hospitality, where she began as a waiter in 2006. Over the next three years, she navigated roles in restaurants, and hospitality venues, each step fueling her personal and professional growth.

In hospitality, Tatsiana learned the value of connection—whether it was pairing wines for guests or bringing friends together over shared bottles. In 2015, her interest in becoming a sommelier took root. With limited sommelier opportunities in Belarus, she moved to Dubai in 2018, transitioning from bartender to wine enthusiast. During the 2020 pandemic, Tatsiana deepened her knowledge by writing a book on vintages and conducting tastings from home.

Her dedication led her to pursue certification with the Court of Master Sommeliers in 2021, completing both the Intro and Certified levels. Now, she is on the path to the Advanced level, driven by a passion for lifelong learning and the belief that the world of wine is as boundless as knowledge itself.
