Two Spectacular Sommeliers Battle it out in BOCA’s Cellar
On Tuesday, June 4th, for one night only, BOCA will proudly host Thomas Domingues, Head Sommelier at the One MICHELIN-starred Ossiano in Atlantis, for a Sommelier Standoff against Shiv Menon, Head of Hospitality & Wine at the MICHELIN Green Star restaurant, BOCA.
Fresh off significant wins at the prestigious Star Wine List awards, these two rising stars of hospitality will battle off with their pairings, crafted for a menu designed exclusively for this occasion by Chef Patricia Roig in BOCA’s cellar. Using their viticultural acumen, distinct approaches to wine, and engaging storytelling, Tom and Shiv will each present a pairing recommendation for each of the three dishes from Patricia’s creations.
What distinguishes their storytelling, knowledge of terroir, and understanding of vintages? How will their appreciation of indigenous grape varieties and commitment to sustainable practices influence their wine choices? The evening includes a welcome reception, a four-course meal, six wines – three from each sommelier – priced at AED 645++ per person, with limited seating available for 12 guests.
